Yep Stillllllllllll injuried............................
On monday I ran 3 miles @ 7:45 pace and the next day i did not feel too bad but after a half mile my knee started flaring up and I walked back to the house.
I am pretty much content with I wont be running again until the new year and although I am going to make a point out of not gaining any weight and maybe lose some, it will still be hard starting back again from what will bea 2month lay off. Perhaps I can savage the track season maybe by the end of April and May and run some prs.

Decent start to the week, knee injury to finish :(
This week was basically what I expected for my first week back running until today. At first i was having the usual sluggish week after taking 2 weeks off. I set out on today's trail run which I intended to go about 10miles, my left knee felt a little achy at the start but nothing bad but about 5 miles in KABOOOM ! I can barley bend my leg. I don't even recall twisting it bad or anything, and it hurts in a place I have never had any problems, the upper inside of my knee. I am really hoping I unknowingly banged it against something and it is swollen and the increase blood flow from running made it worse and not a ligament tear which could ruin my spring track season that I have big plans to set big Prs in the 1500, Mile and 5k.
I will monitor it for the rest of the day along with ice and Motrin. I will not run for 2 days then If it still hurts on Wednesday I will take the rest of the week off and go to medical on Monday since that will be the soonest ill be able to get in because of the holiday and see what the doctors say.
What made the run worse was that I was about 3 miles away from my car and had to walk/limp back and it was only 37 degrees out.
Here are my stats for the week:
M. 7.3 Miles @ 8:30 pace with Erin
T 5.25 miles @ 7:30 pace 6:51 last mile
W. 3am Jog with puppy. Pm 1mile Wu 6x400 with 400 float rest 80,84,80,79,78,74
T 5.3 Miles @ 8-9 pace played basketball for an hour at lunch
F. Lifted weigthts for an hour
S 7miles steady in 45:53 total 5:49 last mile 10x10second hills next to the track 8 tot.
S 5miles on trail then hurt knee :(
38 miles tot

Marathon Done. Two Week Break Over. Time to Train like a Mad Man!!!
Ok, so I just finished the Marine Corps Marathon 2 weeks ago in a PR time of 2:44:38. The race went almost as planned except I lost about 2minutes in the last 3.2 miles due to my quads locking up a bit. This was due to not getting in enough 20+ long runs, which next fall I will have to do more of to help get me under that 2:40 mark.
The marathon itself was really great although getting around DC was a bit of a pain. My parents dropped me off in the runners village around 6 am and I pretty much hung out and made my way up to the start line. I did a little bit off jogging and stretching to get loose and try to stay warm as it was only 37 degrees. I was surprised how easy it was to use the porta johns since there were so many of them. At 7:30 the opening ceremonies began with the National Anthem, a fly by, then the wheel chair race followed shortly by the beginning of the marathon with Drew Carey firing the pistol then jumping in himself and running a 4:37 for his first marathon.
The first 8 miles are pretty hilly with it flattening out after about 8 for the next 12 miles. Miles 5 through 20 were very scenic making your way around Georgetown, the Tidal Basin, and the National Mall with a great crowd going crazy and motivating you along the way. Miles 20-26 are rather boring with a few hills and a lot of turns but this is where I focused on trying to pick up as many places as I could as I was dying but not as bad as some others. The last .2 is the is the steepest hill on the course up into the Arlington national cemetery which is a punishing finish to the marathon but it makes it that much nicer to be done.

After the finish you are force to walk almost a mile to get your stuff from the baggage claim and find your friends and family. I can see it being really bad if you hit the wall hard but otherwise it was a good cool down.
Now for the last 2 weeks I have been pretty lazy with only doing some light gym workouts, playing basketball, but now I am ready to get down to business.
Some Pictures and Splits of the Race.
